There's far too many glitches in 2.4 to have it be considered a "Stable" mod.

Aside from my random Vehicle-Crashing, I do use quite a few NPCs in my training regimine as well as the regimine of my Padawans, and the only ones I have thusfar been able to use are Kyle, Jawa, Luke, and Desann, all of which are good for only maybe a few things.

2.4 didn't add anything worthwhile that 2.3 didn't have, except for the hugely lame "Fuel powered Grapple that can be cut lulz", yet it disabled quite a bit of what 2.3 had and worked with.

2.4 was largely an Alt-Dim update, and we don't use nor will we probably ever use that feature.

If it ain't broke, don't fix it. We should never have went to 2.4 in the first place.


Hell, if it were up to me we'd still be on BaseJKA.

god... I hope you're kidding... that would be the dumbest thing to do... base dmgs are horrible and it allows noobs to poke and wiggle...I visit often other servers enough to know that staff are overpowered in base...

I don't believe we can call a mod unstable if we're not even sure it's installed properly. All those functions are working fine on other servers for people who wish to mess around. It's not like our padawans can't fare without playing "hit the kyle" oh I sure hope not.

The list of fixes for 2.4 is quite lengthy, it doesn't just disappear into something that isn't worthwhile. Grapple improvements are merely a highlight. Another is that 2.4 fixed duel interference... and that's pretty important to many including me because when i want to spend 40 force points on a pull throw it better damn hit my enemy and doesn't stop at some invisible person running in between.

Personally I thought a lot of things were indeed broke, and I'm glad 2.4 fixed it.

I could always nuke the server and install it fresh, but that is a project for after my trip.

After testing tonight, it seems that the problem lies within the server.
  • The following NPCs are the only ones that work: Tie-Fighter, Tie-Bomber, Kyle, Luke, Desann, Alora, Jawa, R2D2, Lambda_Shuttle, Rancor, Mutant_rancor, and Swoop_cin. This leaves a large list of NPCs that send data to the server to spawn, but do not appear, thus causing the server's latency to increase, and can only be fixed by map_restart.
  • Grapple is still glitching weird and backfiring on the owner randomly, only noticed this twice.
  • Ghost-hitting is still happening in which hits do not connect when the server skips
  • JA+ moves till happening on a hair trigger.
These are the problems that 2.4 had and were fixed during downgrade to 2.3
  • Admin commands now respond faster (back to their normal speed)
  • Special RDFA move is triggered within the correct distance (the one where you spin in place if someone's right up near you)
  • Vehicles do not shoot glitched images, they now shoot regular bullets.
  • Bot routes seem to be working, bots are now acting strategically again.
  • Teleport works in all circumstances, does not determine the environmental surroundings during teleport.
  • Rcon Commands to allow item alteration (enable/disable) now work.
There's a few more minor issues but mainly just adaptability with different command strings on my end.

I think the server needs a fresh install, something must be glitching up with the NPCs and the random lag spots.

I don't know. I still don't like 2.4 because a lot of the features that were added seem pointless for our clan structure. A lot of that stuff is great for people who just run around and fanspam eachother all day but not really here.

Going to back up my server configs tonight and wipe the server clean. Do a full blow file reinstall. Then mod the server with JA+ 2.4beta5. We seem to be the only ones with this issue, and it needs to be resolved.

Server has been re-installed from the ground up.

The Server config files have been restored the same as before.

The IPBan list has been restored.

JA+2.4beta4 has been installed and tested then upgraded to...
JA+2.4beta5 has been installed, tested, and proven to have resolved the glitches from the first two attempts.

The follow maps have been reinstalled:
  • AoF Maze
  • Trials_Beta
  • AoF Duel
  • AoF_Joust
