Follow-up: RE: Image Shack Hack

Post by Novus'Olm » Sat Jul 11, 2009 11:13 pm

Since ID mostly just confused people by his post, allow me to elaborate.

Last night, Image Shack, a popular photo-hosting website, was hacked by a group known as the Anti-SEC movement.

For those of us that are techno and PC savvy, the name alone probably makes your eyes pop.

The Anti-SEC Movement announced themselves last night by hacking random photos on ImageShack and replacing it with their own Mission Statement Image. They plan to hack every known Security Company (Norton, etc) as well as any who support the policy of Full Disclosure.

Full-disclosure is the disclosure of exploits/hacks publicly - anywhere.
The security industry uses full-disclosure to profit and develop scare-tactics to convince people into buying their firewalls, anti-virus software, and auditing services.

I've attached the image below. You may view it, or google Anti-SEC to find more about what happened.
