New system regarding Events

Post by Novus'Olm » Wed Jun 15, 2011 12:02 am

Well, to be honest, this isn't really a "new" system.. just one that we keep forgetting exists.

From now on, any events that occur on any AoF server will be cataloged using the Calendar system of the forums.

I've set it up so that Jedi Council Members and Jedi Knights have access to the calendar system to post events.

A thread has been created in the JK section detailing how to do this. Link

All events, regardless of if they are surprise, scheduled, or remedial (such as emergency training) should be posted to the calendar.

Hopefully, this will help boost our attendance levels at events.

Thanks
Novus

I feel the countdown timer is something that should be brought back.

Unfortunately, the countdown timer that we were using did not allow for a recurring date/time to be set.

This makes it rather troublesome to edit, as it is hidden so far within the forums code that it gets lost. It took me about 20 minutes just to find and delete it.

If a suitable timer can be found, in Javascript, which would allow for a recurring date/time to be placed.. then we can talk.

Slight problem, I've not been able to upload .js files to the forums for almost 3 years. Stupid invisionfree.

I've just been posting the code straight into the header. Works fine.
